“Your perfect circle of happiness”—that’s what Harold Alfonso set out to create when he launched Donut Park, a Korean-inspired venture that’s now delighting customers across Luzon and other key areas in the country. Malaki ang papel ng mga maliliit na negosyo o ang tinatawag na Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas. Bukod sa pagbibigay ng mga pangunahing produkto, marami sa mga MSMEs ngayon ang nagsisilbing mahalagang banking access points sa mga probinsya. 

Sa pamamagitan ng Cash Agad service ng BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO), ang mga MSMEs tulad ng mga mini-grocery store, water refilling station, hardware, at pharmacy ay naging accessible at secure na lugar para sa mga banking transactions. Gamit ang mga point-of-sale (POS) terminals, pwedeng mag-withdraw ng cash at mag-check ng balance sa savings account. At sa selected partner agents, pwede na ring mag magbayad ng bills at mag-deposit.

Move on na sa 'Alkansya Mentality'


Empowered ang mga customer at small businesses sa komunidad dahil sa Cash Agad. Ipinaliwanag ni Jaime M. Nasol, Senior Vice President at Head of Agency Banking sa BDO, kung paano ipinapakita ng Cash Agad ang commitment ng Bangko na maabot ang mas maraming Pilipino sa buong bansa, lalo na sa mga underserved na lugar.


Nang i-launch ng BDO ang Cash Agad noong 2017, nasa 70% ng mga Pilipino ang wala pang formal banking relationship. 

Sabi ni Jaime M. Nasol, BDO Senior Vice President at Head of Agency Banking, "Isipin mo na nakatira ka sa isang liblib na komunidad na dalawang oras ang layo mula sa pinakamalapit na bangko. Anong mangyayari? Ang pinaghirapan mong pera ay maiipon lang sa alkansya. Ito ang 'alkansya mentality,' at hinahadlangan nito ang maraming Pilipino na mag-open ng bank account."

Nakipag-partner ang BDO sa mga maliliit na negosyo para maging Cash Agad partner-agents at makapagbigay ng mga importanteng banking services sa kanilang komunidad. Pwede nang mag-financial transaction ang mga tao sa kanilang mga suking tindahan nang hindi kailangang mag-aksaya ng oras sa biyahe papunta sa pinakamalapit na bangko.

"May mga lugar na dalawang oras ang layo ng mga tao sa bangko, at mahal ang pamasahe,” saad ni Nasol. “Sa halip na gumastos ng P100 sa pamasahe, kailangan lang nilang magbayad ng P30 convenience fee sa mga Cash Agad partner-agents na sari-sari stores para mag-withdraw. Tipid na sa gastos, tipid pa sa oras.”

Pagpapalakas sa mga MSMEs, pagpapalago ng ekonomiya


Para sa mga MSMEs, ang pagiging Cash Agad partner-agent ay hindi lang nagbubukas ng bagong source of income, nakakatulong din itong makahatak ng mas maraming customers sa kanilang negosyo. 

Extra money source. Ang Cash Agad ay nagbibigay sa mga MSMEs tulad ng mga sari-sari store ng karagdagang kita.


"Ang mga partner-agents ay nagsisilbing representantives ng bangko sa kanilang mga komunidad,” dagdag ni Nasol. “Nagbibigay din sila inspirasyon sa mga residente na mag-ipon para sa kanilang kinabukasan. Sila, sa madaling salita, ay ang ‘BDO’ sa kanilang barangay.”
