How I Started Out? - A Mother's Road

How I Started Out?

I never thought I would end up as a work at home mom. With very little experience, I didn't expect that I'll get such a great opportunities from simply working online and it did opened up more doors of opportunities for me.

I started out working at home for kgb_ Philippines as a "special agent" (you read that right! the term for remote agents). I got hired on February, 2010. It’s a local company here in the Philippines that hires work at home agents for a non-voice account.

I was hesitant at first because there are a lot of scams masquerading as legitimate part-time work, and it’s just so hard to put your trust to someone.  It was a hard decision to push through with the application. It’s more of a win or loss situation.

Through the process, I was asked to undergo a two weeks home training without pay. I also have to pass a simulation training (practice mode) and a certification test (final stage). At that time, I’ve already proven that my instinct was right. The training gave me the real picture of what the job is and that it was really authentic.

Gladly, I did pass the certification test and I was invited to personally sign a six months contract at their office in Makati. I also had to pass all the required documents as part of the hiring process.

Together with the other applicants, we just had a few minutes of payroll discussions and we were then asked to sign our contract with the company. Surprisingly, we even had our ATMs on the spot. An employee from BPI was carrying a large travelling bag. I was so surprised to see that it was a manual machine he’s going to use in making our ATMs. That's a first!

We were also instructed that our online platform will be activated within 24 hours.

And the rest is history. I lasted with the company for 3 years and I discovered more work at home opportunities I would never imagine.

I had my freedom to work for as minimum as 10 hours per week and a maximum of 30, work any day of the week and anytime of the day. I get to book my own shifts and work on my preferred hours.

It’s just so relaxing for having no work related pressure at all. I get to manage my own working hours and have spare time for my kids, which is my real purpose of working at home. Having enough time to bond with my little angels and get to spend quality time with them, while earning from my online jobs, is just so fulfilling.

*As of July 2013, I am no longer associated with kgb_ Philippines or W@HS. But if you are interested to be a part of their work at home community, take the challenge here. You have to pass the challenge before you can send your application. Good Luck!
