The True Meaning of Christmas

As soon as September kicks in, it signals the start of our Christmas season. Although there are still a few special holidays that come ahead of Christmas, we get so excited early on and even start our count down to Christmas.

Christmas is the time of the year that we see kids opening up their presents. Families, friends and relatives reunite. But what does it really mean? Why do we have to celebrate it every year?

Christmas reminds us of God's ultimate gift to us - Jesus!

"God loved the world so much, that he gave his one and only Son, so that whoever believes in him may not be lost but have eternal life." - John 3:16

While our traditional gift giving every Christmas was influenced by the three wise men. And that's how it all started.

With that being said, we can conclude that the true meaning of Christmas is love and giving...and for me, when we speak of 'love', it's always about our family.

Christmas wishlist for myself — I wish for safety and good health for every member of my family. It makes me feel at ease to see my families safe and sound.

Christmas gift ideas for my loved ones — For my daughter, I would like to give her a piano and a volleyball. My son would love to get a guitar and educational toys. For my hubby, a black shirt and for my mom and sisters, identical slippers would be nice.

Taking Gifting to the Next Level — If given a chance, I would love to donate some educational toys and materials to the SPED Center in Marcelo H. Del Pilar Memorial School (San Nicolas, Bulakan, Bulacan). It was this June when I enrolled my son on this SPED center because getting into a private school is quite expensive. The community is very welcoming and I met a lot of parents who goes through the same thing as I do. I'm so happy and grateful to be a part of it. The kids with special needs are so lovely, energetic and optimistic. They bring good vibes everyday. It would be nice to give them some presents this Christmas. They would surely enjoy that moment...I can imagine.

How about you, are you still working on your gift list? This can be a big headache for some of us, because it takes a lot of time and effort to think of the right gift for someone. Just keep in mind that you don't have to give gifts that financially matches the gift they're giving you if you really cannot afford it. A homemade or do-it-yourself presents are way much better. Remember it's the thought that counts.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!!
